The Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has appointed and constituted the five City Executive or Cabinet team in line with the newly amended Kampala Capital City Authority Act.
According to Lukwago, the amended Act provides him with powers to appoint and chair the Council Executive that is to supervise the implementation of the city laws and running of business.
Among the five include the Makerere University Councilor Doreen Nyanjura who lost the Speakership elections to Rubaga North Councilor Abubaker Kawalya and now consoled to serve as the City Minister for Finance and Administration.
Lukwago has also appointed Nyanjura’s supporters Kennedy Okello as Minister of Works, Engineering and Technical Services as well as Kyambogo University’s Female Councilor Olive Namazzi as the Minister for Health, Education, Sports and Environment.
The Deputy Lord Mayor Sarah Kanyike will also deputize Lukwago as the Cabinet Chairperson and also serve as the Minister for Gender and Community Services as well as the In-charge of Production and Marketing.
