The Leader of Opposition in Parliament Mathias Mpuuga has called on Opposition MPs to defy any Committee Chairpersons chasing them from committee sittings.
Mpuuga has raised this following yesterday’s incident in the Committee of Legal and Parliamentary Affairs where the Acting Chairperson Fox Odoi chased away Bamunanika County MP, Robert Ssekitooleko and the Ndorwa East MP Wilfred Niwagaba.
Mpuuga also cautioned political party leaders against issuing directives to their respective MPs that are intended to undermine the Opposition cause.
This follows a directive by the FDC and DP leaders to their members to end the boycott and return to the House.
Mpuuga said that the danger in such moves is the possibility of causing internal rifts within the Opposition.
