The Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga is opposed to the new technical graduates who are yearning to start up jobs before acquiring enough hands-on skills and experience.

This was during the 18th Graduation ceremony of Buganda Royal institute of Business and Technical Education Mengo where 1379 students have been awarded Diplomas and certificates in various technical academic disciplines.

Mayiga said it’s time to stop this common talk towards graduates of starting their own businesses after school because it has left many businesses to collapse due to lack of enough experience with their innovators.

Mayiga pointed out the world bank report which shows that Uganda is one of the developing countries where new business on individual basis are started but don’t last for over 5 years   because their proprietor lacks experience.

However, he further advised graduates to be ready for challenges faced after school, to be patient and trustworthy when they acquire jobs.

At the same ceremony Mayiga launched the 25 years Silver jubilee of Buganda Royal institute of Business and Technical Education and thanked the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi visionary idea to start up the institute which has contributed to the development of Buganda and Uganda at large.
