Katikiro Mayiga condemns Ibrahim Tusubira aka Isma Olaxes’ murder

The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has condemned the murder of a self-styled blogger Ibrahim Tusubira alias Isma Olaxes or Jaja Iculi.

Jaja Iculi was killed in cold blood on Saturday night 6^th May 2023 around 9.30 pm by yet unknown gunmen in Kyanja Central Zone as he was heading to his home, according to police.

Now in his address at Bulange Mengo ahead of his 10 year anniversary as the Katikiro which will be marked on 12^th May 2023, Mayiga says although the late used to send unscrutinized recordings and comments it was not desirable to kill him.

Mayiga has also wondered how The High Court criminal division in Kampala acquitted Abubaker Kalungi the accused in the murder of former Buyende District Police Commander Muhammad Kirumira and his friend Resty Nalinya Mbabazi.

On 24^th April the High Court judge Margaret Mutonyi, concurred with the assessors and acquitted the accused on grounds of insufficient evidence in a case where Kirumira, was shot dead near his home in Bulenga on Mityana Road alongside his friend, Resty Mbabazi Nalinya, a mobile money dealer and neighbour on September 8, 2018.

Katikiro Mayiga says police should be equipped to help them take the necessary investigations to support evidence in court to avoid case frustration and justice.
