The Kampala Capital City Traders Association of Uganda has distanced it’s self from the planned economic protests organized in Kampala by certain political activists.

Today, joint security operatives from the Police the Military Police were heavily deployed on all major roundabouts of roads accessing the city to avert the planned protests.

Dr. Thadeus Musoke Nagenda, the Chairperson of KACITA Uganda says since the economy become worse in the country, they have been engaging the government on issues related to addressing the challenge.

Nagenda says that they have also been following-up their proposals before the government and have witnessed a positive response which has seen the reduction of prices of some commodities across the country though some haven’t been registered.

Nagenda however noted that the current situation where everyone is looking for survival doesn’t need shutting down of business within the city center.
