Traffic Police have released other alternative routes for motorists accessing Kampala from the western country after a section of the Masaka road gave way, a few kilometers to the city.

The road section between Kyengera and Buddo Junction along Kampala -Masaka highway partially sunk due to heavy rains.

Motorists are all clogged on the alternative routes heading to and from Kampala.

The road is now closed at Kyengera and motorists from Kampala to Masaka are using Nakawuka road- Budo junction or Kutemu to access Kampala – Masaka highway.

Michael Kananura, the Traffic Police Spokesperson says some alternative routes have got traffic jams and motorists should use others like off Katende to Nakawuka then turn left to Kampala or right to Entebbe.

Other routes are Mityana road to Buloba-Nsangi to access Kampala-Masaka highway, those going to Kampala should use Kutemu or Budo and Nakawuka to access the city.

There was a similar incident in December last year, with Traffic at the Busega – Kyengera section along the Kampala – Masaka Highway again diverted following a collapse of the roadway.
