As the race for speakership gets tougherone of the Members of Parliament on Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga’s campaign team also Buvuma Islands MP Robert Migadde says they can’t afford losing the only woman on the arms of government come 11th parliament.

He has referred to Kadaga as “the only one stick of matchbox” representing ladies and gender balance in the top most leadership positions in this country.

Migadde’s response come at the time when the chairperson of National Resistance Movement Central Executive Committee (NRM-CEC) Yoweri Museveni warned both parties of Kadaga and her deputy Jacob Oulanyah to stop campaigns before the party decision is taken.

It’s also rumored that Kadaga wrote to Museveni saying she won’t accept any appointment whether for a Vice president or any ministerial position.

The speakership race for 11th parliament has attracted so far four candidates who include; the MP-elect for Bukoto Central Richard Ssebamala, Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemajju Nganda, Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah, and the incumbent Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
