Parliament has postponed plenary for the second time in a space of two weeks.

Plenary was meant to resume on the 7th of January, but a letter from the Clerk to Members of Parliament postponed the sitting to 14th January.

However, a new later dated 9th January authored by Paul G Wabwire on behalf of the Clerk to Parliament indicates that commencement of plenary sitting has been rescheduled to Tuesday 21st January 2020.

The letter urges the different committees of Parliament to utilize the extension of the period given to finalize reports on the budget framework without fail.

The letter also states the current notice supersedes the one issued on 3rd January 2020 which has said Plenary resumes on 14th.

The postponement comes at a time when both Speakers Kadaga and Oulanyah are out of the county. Kadaga is in Canada, while Oulanyah is in Germany.

It is not clear if the absence of the two speakers is the main reason for the postponement of the plenary sessions.
