Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga is furious over the alleged misuse of the telephone installation of State House to confuse and de-campaign her for the race of speakership in the 11th parliament.

Kadaga the incumbent speaker of the 10th parliament has named two Government officials the Senior Presidential Advisor on Defense and Security matters Proscovia Nalweyiso and Government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa said to be working with people in State House to call MPs and urge them to vote her rival Jacob Oulanyah.

Launching her campaigns at Speke Resort Munyonyo with at least 100 MPs in attendance, Kadaga appealed to the MPs to disregard calls coming in from Statehouse saying they were misusing the calls by informing the MPs that the calls were from the President. Nankabirwa has not yet commented on the allegations.

Kadaga who has served two terms as Speaker of Parliament is now  seeking a third term, but is facing considerable challenge from the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah.

Kadaga wonders why some women are working for the failure of their colleagues yet it should be a joint effort for all women to get empowered.

Kadaga notes that most women are less empowered financially with many remaining as housewives but its surprising instead of fellow women coming out to support those who are still marginalized they are working to their detriment.

Kadaga advised fellow women through their organisation the Forum for Women in leadership (FOWODE) in Kampala to fight for their rights and freedom.
