The high court criminal division has found Kasolo Comporiyamu and others with a case to answer in the murder case of Maria Nagirinya a daughter to Ugandan politician Anthony Lubowa and her driver.

 

In his ruling, justice Muwaata highlighted that state managed to prove many ingredients in this murder case some of which included; that there was intention of the murder, Death was caused which was unlawful and that there was malice aforethought.

 

He further noted that state proved that there was a log and a jack used to kill the deceased and further that the DNA analysis also proved that there was participation of some of the accused persons plus the witness testimony of one Isaac Ssenabulya who was one of the accused who was later convicted upon his plea proved that the accused participated in the murder since he revealed how he worked around with all of them in the murder.

 

He has now advised the accused to prepare their defense.

 

The accused who include; Lubega Johnson, Kalyango Nasif, Kisekka Hassan,Mpanga Sharif and Kateregga Sadat are charged with six counts that is two counts of kidnap,two of murder and two counts of aggravated robbery.

 

Nagirinya, a former employee of the Community Integrated Development Initiative was kidnapped from her gate in Lungujja, Busega together with her driver, Kitayimbwa, and their bodies were later recovered in Mukono in August 2019.
