The Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court has adjourned the matter in which the former presidential candidate Joseph Kabuleta is charged of promoting sectarianism among the Banyarwanda, Banyankole and Bahima.

The matter had come up for mention but due to the absence of the state prosecutor Doreen Elima the case has been adjourned to 15th March 2023.

Kabuleta who is also leader of the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue-NEED Party was arrested from his party offices at Bugolobi last year for an offence he allegedly committed on May 30th, 2022.

Prosecution states that through a video he posted on his official YouTube page, Kabuleta made statements likely to cause disaffection, hostility, or raise discontent and ill feelings among the Banyarwanda, Bahima, and Banyankole.

Kabuleta however denied the charges before court where he is jointly charged alongside a one Prossy Nayebare.
