The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has resolved that all reports under the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises-COSASE be adopted by Parliament with or without scrutiny by the committee.
This was after the Speaker’s concern that COSASE had failed to deliberate effectively and deliver within the mandated six months of investigating and reporting to parliament.
She further blamed COSASE leadership under Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi who is also Nakawa West MP for failing to deliver as expected.
Among noted that out of the 211 reports of the auditor general, only four have been completed by COSASE thus directing that reports be adopted as tabled by the auditor general.
Some of the reports concluded by COSASE include Uganda Airline, Uganda National Roads Authority, Civil Aviation Authority and Uganda Railways Corporation.
