The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi has condemned greed among leaders at all levels which facilitates corruption that is killing the country.

Addressing the subjects at the his silver jubilee cerebrations in Lubiri Mengo this evening, Kabaka said that corruption has failed every project and service be it;, education, health services and self-development among others.

He said “castles” of the haves has emerged in Uganda with many have not’s who just begging for even the little food which is a bad move and a raspy to violence.

Kabaka Mutebi says that government, stakeholders and all Ugandans should take on deliberate action to end the ceaseless corruption that continues to plague the nation.

He however urges the public to focus on establishing and joining cooperatives that could improve on their standards of living by engaging in productive activities like coffee production and processing.

Meanwhile his chief guest Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II the Asantehene of Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana urged African traditional leaders to focus on fighting poverty and improve the earnings of their subjects, fight ignorance, poverty and disease through education if their kingdoms are to stay strong.

He said Africa’s colonial challenges should not mislead the current generation although the past has to be remembered focus must be on attracting investment and innovation for self sustenance.

Earlier on the Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga congratulated Kabaka upon reaching the Silver Jubilee and the achievement so far marked above all the protection of the Kingdom and the leadership for 25 years now which many thought it could only last for four years.

Mayiga stressed the need for Federo system of governance that it would be the best leadership system to spar Buganda and Uganda’s development.

The Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV, the Omugabe of Ankole Prince Charles Aryaija Rwebishengye and the Umukuka of Bugisu among other religious and central government leaders attended at the 25th Coronation Anniversary of Kabaka Mutebi II at Bulange Ground.

The celebrations have been marked under the theme; ; “Nga tujjaguza emyaka 25 egya Jubileeo, Abavuka lye Suubi lyaffe” –translated ,As we celebrate the Silver Jubilee on the throne Youth are our Hope”
