Kampala High Court of the Criminal Division under Justice Jane Francis Abodo has set August 3rd to hear the bail application of Brian Isiko who was convicted of misuse of computer when he suggested love to the Kabarole Woman Member of Parliament Sylvia Rwabwogo.
Isiko through Katuntu & Co advocate appealed against the judgment of Buganda Road Court Grade 1 Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu basing on the grounds that he suffered great injustice during his trial at Buganda Road Magistrate Court.
Isiko has applied for bail basing on the grounds that the offense he was convicted of doesn’t involve violence or threat to violence and is likely to serve the entire sentence in prison by the time his appeal is heard.
He also said that he is a student whose continued education depends on the success of the bail application in addition to having substantial sureties.
On July 6th , Buganda Road Court Grade 1 Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu sentenced Brian Isiko 25, a student of YMCA to Luzira for 2 years for offensive communication and cyber harassment, which his defence lawyer Ramathan Waiswa contested.
Meanwhile Mariam Naigaga Woman Mp Namutumba District has advised Ugandans mostly ladies to desist from putting secretes on social media.
