The Inspector General of Police -IGP Martine Okoth Ochora has noted with concern about the increasing incidences of aggravated tortured and abused children in the country that are captured on videos and gone viral on social media platforms.

It’s on this note that Ochora has directed the Child and Family Protection Unit in the Police to investigate all these videos and ensure that cases of torture and abuses against children are stopped.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson informed the journalists during the press conference in Naguru that at least 33 cases of aggravated torture and abuses of children in the videos have been registered in Kampala police division and most of the suspects have been aligned before courts of law.

Enanga says that most of the suspects involved in these criminal acts are parents, guardians and caretakers and most of these people have been aligned before courts of law.

Enanga however says that they are hunting for a female suspect at Bbunga in Kabalagala, Makindye division seen in video torturing her son but, warning that those hiding her will also be apprehended once found.

Meanwhile, Police have warned film producers to stop publishing videos of children tortured and abused that have no warning messages and mislead the public, citing the recent video on social media that shows a mother burying a son.
