The Wakiso District Woman Member of Parliament Betty Naluyima is concerned over the delay in the implementation of the parliamentary motion passed a year ago to allow districts to spend local revenue at source.

The passing of this motion was meant to see that the local districts would stop remitting collected revenues to the consolidated fund but rather notify the Ministry of Finance on how much is collected and have it spent on items as per the plan activities in a particular financial year to develop the areas.

The motion also sought to solve the delayed service delivery in local governments caused by the central government despite collecting revenues on time.

Now Naluyima blames the ministry of Finance and Local government for shelving the motion being that they are the implementing agencies after the parliamentary resolution.

She has now vowed to resurrect the same debate in parliament once the house resumes business next year.
