Government has introduced the usage of mobile money to ease the repayment of loans issued to women through the Uganda women Entrepreneurship Program by government.
This has been revealed by the permanent secretary ministry of gender labour and social development Pius Bigirimana saying that this has been done due to the integration of the use of technology such as through the ICT platforms for monitoring projects as well as mobile money for easing repayment process especially for hard to reach areas.
He also noted that this platform will eliminate transport costs and time waste while on the road travelling to repayments loans.
The mobile money repayment process will come into effect starting the next financial year 2019/20.
