The Permanent Secretary Directorate of Ethics and Integrity Alex B Okello has advised all local governments to interdict all staff implicated in corruption related cases.
This followed Gulu City Mayor Alfred Okwonga revelation that all his heads of departments were implicated in corruption related scandals but there was fear of crippling the service delivery if all of them were interdicted at once.
It’s upon this background that the Permanent Secretary advised that the leadership reaction will signal commitment to fight against corruption.
This was during an engagement with members of the media from Lango and Acholi sub regions in Gulu City where the Directorate of Ethics and Integrity started a month-long assessment implementation of the Zero Tolerance to corruption policy.
