Government has refused to relax the curfew restrictions as it was requested by the parliamentary Imamu also Kawempe North Member of Parliament Latif Ssebaggala.

A week ago Ssebagala requested government to relax on the curfew hours to start at 10pm-6am from 9pm-6am especially now when the Muslims are fasting to give them ample time to pray during the holy month of Ramathan.

However in Tuesday’s plenary, the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda informed the house that the matter was intensively discussed by cabinet with guidance from scientists and it was resolved that the curfew hours be maintained  especially now when there’s a new surge of Covid-19.

Rugunda further said that the country is waiting for more guidance from the president who is to address the nation soon.

Ugandan Muslim community on Tuesday joined the world to observe the fasting month of Ramathan.
