Everything is set for 66th Kabaka’s birthday celebrations.

All is set for the celebrations of the 66th Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s birthday at Mengo Palace on Tuesday April 13, 2021.

The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi ll was born on April 13th 1955 and on Tuesday will be making 66 years of age.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic only few invited guests will be attending this year’s Kabaka’s birthday.

According to the chairperson of the organizing committee, Prosperous Nankindu, only 5 people will be rewarded for their distinguished contribution to the kingdom with “ejjinja ery’omuwendo” (Precious Stone) award although she declined to name them.

According to the program, the special guests have to arrive at 9.00am and the Kabaka will arrive at Mengo Palace at 11 am and at the same function there will be launch of a book titled “Kabaka Mutebi Omulwanirizi w’ebyaffe”.

This year’s Kabaka’s birthday will be under the theme: “Youths to take a lead in the fight against HIV”.

UNAIDS appointed the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi ll as the good will ambassador in the fight against HIV in Central and East Africa.
