The state minister of Finance David Bahati has today tabled the new proposed amendments in the PPDA Act 2020 before the parliamentary Finance committee chaired by Jane Avur.

In July this year, President Yoweri Museveni refused to ascend to the bill and returned it to parliament for reconsideration due to some unclear closes.

Among the un-harmonized closes were the unclear transition from the current authority to the new authority to be created, administration structure, and tenure of 5 years term in office by executive director visa vie three years by board among others.

The amendment comes after parliament raised some concerns in the act like delays in procurement process which causes poor service delivery, and also compensations to contractors as a result of government bureaucracy by corrupt officials.
