Government is advised to take responsibility and apologise for the unprecedented incident at Mugulu the seat of the Mbogo clan which has caused unexpected pressure over the ill action of the police against the clan leader and to the Catholic Church.

In a statement released by Lubaga cathedral national foundation, the Uganda Catholic Lawyers society and the head of Laity read by the national vice chairperson Laity Anthony Matega, expressed their strongest condemnation for the violence, brutality and conduct of the highest level of unprofessionalism by the police officer which disrupted the thanks giving mass for the Omutaka Kayiira Gajuule the head of Mbogo clan that was led by Rt. Rev. John Baptist Kaggwa which they say was a direct attack to the Catholic Church.

Clans and Traditional activities and freedom of worship are enshrined in the constitution of Uganda any violation to the two areas is an attack to the supreme law but again attacking a congregation during mass at Mugulu in Zigoti Mityana district was an attack to the universal Catholic Church which calls for the government apology to the Uganda Episcopal Conference

They also want government to investigate and take appropriate action against the police officers who were involved and commit its self to the affected parties and the entire public that such incidents will not happen again.

Since the incident last Saturday October 17, 2020 Police Political Commissar Asan Kasingye, has been moving with other top police officers comprising director of Crime Intelligence Christopher Ddamulira, the director of Human Resource and Development, Brig Godfrey Golooba, and Kampala Metropolitan Police commander Moses Kafeero,  to apologise to the Buganda Kingdom and to the Bishop they found at his residence in Masaka for the incident and promised that they are to take action against the officers.
