The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has unveiled Dr. Rosemary Alwoc as their candidate in the upcoming by elections for the Woman Member of Parliament for Dokolo district slated for the 21st of March 2024.

Dr. Alwoc is a daughter to the former Dokolo Woman MP Cecilia Ogwal who passed on last month.

Recently, the FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat held a closed door meeting with Alwoc and requested her to stand on the party ticket since rumors indicated that the ruling NRM had interest in her.

During the unveiling function at the FDC headquarters at Najjanankumbi along Entebbe road, Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda, the Chairperson of the FDC Electoral Commission introduced her to the public and handed the party flag, constitution and the strategic plan to her.

He confirmed that Alwoc will be nominated on the 11th of March 2024 thus appealing to the people of Dokolo to support her since she has all the qualities of a capable leader.

In her communication, Dr. Alwoc called upon the people of Dokolo to vote for her to fulfill her mother’s unfinished plans since she was working closely with the late in terms of infrastructural development for the people of Dokolo.

Meanwhile Amuriat appealed to Ugandans not to compare Dr Alwoc to President Museveni’s son Gen. Muhoozi Kaineruga who lacked leadership skills.

According to the electoral roadmap released by the Electoral Commission for the Dokolo Woman MP by-election, the campaigns will kick off from 13th-19th March 2024 and voting will be held on 21st March 2024.
