The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party plans for dialogue with all opposition political parties to forge a way forward on the persistent electoral violations eminent in all elections in the country.

This comes after the just concluded Kayunga LC 5 Chairperson by-election and many others such as the one in Arua municipality and Bugiri among others that are said to have been interfered with by the government and her security agencies that aided voter intimidation, and vote rigging.

John Kikonyogo, the FDC party deputy spokesperson while addressing journalists this Monday at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi said that political parties in Uganda no longer have value if in an election some parties can’t participate without state interference although he hastened to add that they will never shun any election despite of the huddles.

The Opposition National Unity Platform NUP candidate for the Kayunga LCV bye-election Harriet Nakwede who lost to the NRM’s Andrew Muwonge with a different of 450 votes was at their party head offices in Kamwokya where she called upon the people of Kayunga to be courageous and fight for their rights after they were robbed of their victory in broad day light.

The Kayunga Returning Officer, Jennifer Kyobutungi, announced Muwonge as the winner of the election with 31,830 votes against the NUP’s Harriet Nakwede with 31,380 votes.

NUP says they have all the evidence to present in Courts of law to defend their robbed victory.
