The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has terminated it’s relationship with the people’s Government based at Katonga road and they will no longer participate in any activities associated with them.
People’s Government is a pressure group formed by Dr. Kizza Besigye and they have been working closely with FDC.
However the FDC ‘s National Executive committee resolved to cancel this cooperation saying that they have faced a series of challenges in managing two centers of power which have conflicted since 2018 leading to total misunderstanding before during and after the 2021 general elections.
This has been disclosed to the press at Najjanankumbi by the party president Eng Patrick Oboi Amuriat saying that they have experienced internal conflict besides allegations and counter-accusations that have contributed to considerable setback within their rankings as FDC party, negative publicity among other challenges.
He adds that some members of the FDC have chosen to adopt a hostile stance against their own party in complete contravention of article 12 of the party constitution and they continue to posture as legitimate leaders of the party.
Amuriat has now warned all those posturing as FDC legitimate leaders to stop using FDC headed papers, party symbols, slogans and colors since they are doing it illegally and they are prepared to take disciplinary action through a well constituted committee on discipline against errant members.
Amuriat however hastened to add that they are prepared for talks with FDC members holding corporate, life membership cards and those with upto date membership and all those who wish FDC well on grounds of mutual respect and honest.
