The families of the National Unity Platform-NUP members who were arrested in Kasese District last week are demanding for justice of their people.

The five include Bryan Basisa, the NUP Kasese District Chairperson, Geoffrey Bwambale, the NUP coordinator for Bundibugyo and Atanazio Isanat from Ntoroko District.

Others are Isaac Mumbere and Oninzi Kule a Boda Boda rider from Homa Town.

They were arrested by security personnel on Tuesday last week from Kamaiba Lower, Kamaiba Ward in Kasese Municipality.

The family members say that since their arrest, they don’t know their whereabouts and the charges levied against them.

They also accuse police of failing to arraign them in court within a period mandated by the law.

Tumwine Marutsya, the Rwenzori East Police Spokesperson says police completed investigations and its only court left to set date for hearing.

Sibendire Bigogo one of the lawyers says they will ensure the members appears in a competent court.
