The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities has today unveiled singer Ediriisa Musuuza a.k.a Eddy Kenzo as their tourism ambassador.

Speaking at the unveiling function, the State Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi noted that Kenzo has come in at a time when the country needs him most because Uganda’s economy has been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also noted that Kenzo will spearhead 4 tourism campaigns namely; Tulambule, Twende Uganda Tourism Campaign aimed at marketing Uganda in East Africa, Destination Uganda campaign aimed at increasing visibility in Africa and Pearl of Africa Tourism campaign and he will do this voluntarily thus appealing to him to speak positively for this country wherever he may be.

Kenzo applauded government for this opportunity because he once wondered why he would be appointed as the Kenyan tourism ambassador yet Uganda didn’t recognize his efforts.

He vowed to use his fame to market Uganda by documenting various parts of this country thus urging the youth to help him in this process.
