A group of civil society under the Domestic Violence Act Coalition organizations for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP) has called for the establishment of special courts to settle domestic violence cases.

Launching the 16 days of Activism against Gender Based -Violence campaign 2023 , the group says that victims of domestic violence take long to receive justice because of the long court processes based on priorities and case schedules.

Speaking to the senior programs officer Center for Domestic Violence Prevention Grace Nakirija  Lwanga, proposes that the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs should also allocate funds to recruit more judges to handle domestic violence case as a means to speed up trials.

She also asked government to facilitate village councils to ensure senstisation of societies with norms that perpetuate violence against women and girls.
