The Bishop of Lira Diocese, Rt. Rev. Sanctus Lino Wanok has rallied the priests to operate as guided by the Synod on Synodality.

In his engagement with the Pastoral Coordinators of all Ugandan Catholic Dioceses at St. Augustine Institute Nsambya on Wednesday to share issues raised in the first session of the Synod on Synodality last year.

The Synod on Synodality took place in Rome in October 2023 where this time round marked the first time laypeople and women religious took part as voting members.

Bishop Wanok while sharing information that was discussed in the Synodality emphasized that priests should be listeners to allow the Holy Spirit work and guide.

Bishop Wanok who is also the Vice Chairman of the Uganda Episcopal Conference, added that church leaders must also listen to the flock, in all situations so that the evangelization can be instilled in the hearts of the people.

Pope Francis always emphasizes that listening helps in solving and resolving the consequences and challenges happening on a daily basis.

It is in the same meeting that the Bishop asked priests to use media as a source of evangelization because it is easy to reach out to many people at a go while preaching instead of leaving it for other staff which destroys the world.
