The Director of Caritas Kampala Archdiocese Rev. Fr. John Peter Musumba has vowed to continue supporting schools in the archdeacon to have clean water, Sanitation and Hygiene under the (WASH- Program) in Schools.

 

He disclosed this during the commissioning of a one block  latrine for menstrual hygiene containing 8 stances at St. Kizito Kibiri catholic primary school a Catholic founded school and  government aided that has been constructed by  caritas women desk Kampala funded by the kindermissions werk-Germany.

 

He adds that the new constructed latrine will enable pupils to use them comfortably without worry and be confident when they are in the periods thus calling upon the school management to ensure that they protect the new latrines for more years to come.

 

The Kibiri parish priest Fr. Augustine Innocent Bukenya urged management of the school to educate pupils on the catholic principles and values and catholic departments to know how they operate thus vowing to ensure that the new latrine is protected.

 

The headteacher of St.Kizito Kibiri catholic primary school Mauricia Namale applauded caritas Kampala for the gesture exhibited since they are still challenged as the school with latrines due to the huge number of pupils at the school and parents have failed to fulfill their responsibility towards their children.

 

The school houses 1002 pupils but they have been using one block with 4 latrines for both girls and boys.

 

Anna Lindsay Ndawula who represented her fellow pupils thanked caritas for the gesture and appealed to them to construct some dormitories for them since the current one are inconveniencing to them.
