Cabinet approves 2023 Liberation Day celebrations be conducted in Kakumiro district

The Cabinet has cleared this year’s NRA/NRM liberation day celebrations that are to be held in Kakumiro district.

It will be the 37th NRA/NRM liberation day celebrations under the theme:”Our Resolute Efforts to transform Uganda is a promise we shall fulfill” and president Museveni will be Chief Guest.

Addressing the media at Uganda Media Centre on Thursday, the State Minister for ICT Godfrey Baluku Kabyanga said they will celebrate the NRM achievements in the last 37 years, top among others is peace and security which have enabled the country to attain social, economic development.

Kabyanga however says that the government is still handling the problem of poverty through various national projects targeting vulnerable people like the Parish Development Model PDM, and Emyooga among others that have to be taken advantage of.

The liberation day is marked every 26^th of January, the date when the NRA group led by President Museveni in 1986 won the five year golilla bush war in which close to 300,000 people lost their lives.
