The New Hoima district Woman Member of Parliament Harriet Busingye has been sworn in before the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga who handed her the constitution and rule of procedure.

Busigye NRM candidate polled 33,301 votes against Kamanda Nyakato of the opposition FDC who got 28,789 votes a win which FDC has questioned and also accused the electoral commission of aided the incidents of ballot staffing which EC calls false.

This came shortly after the Chairman Electoral Commission Justice Byabakama revealed that they are investigating reports of alleged ballot stuffing in the just concluded Hoima bi-elections.

They are particularly on the incident which allegedly happened at Kibaire polling station, in Bulindi Parish that was reported to them by Michael Kabaziguruka and. Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu, who were serving as polling agents for the Forum for Democratic Change and Opposition front candidate Asinansi Nyakato

According to the two agents, a voter who attempted to insert pre-ticked ballot papers into the ballot box was intercepted by the Polling Constable but managed to escape from the polling station. He was allegedly found in the possession of 51 ballots which were handed over to the EC Senior Legal Officer Enock Tugonza according to Justice Byabakama.
