Buganda Kingdom has vowed to deal with anybody harboring intentions of ridiculing the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi ll and his management including the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga through social media.
This follows the arrest of Ibrahim Musana alias Pressure 24 Seven who maliciously attacked the Kabaka via social media and this prompted Buganda kingdom to file a complaint at the CID headquarters prompting his arrest.
Now speaking to the press at Bulange Mengo, the Kingdom’s Minister for Information Israel Kazibwe Kitooke noted that quite often they have seen many people misusing social media to spread hate speeches, hostility, tribalism, racism and ridicule Buganda Kingdom plus its leadership something that is morally wrong and disturbing the peace and order in the society.
He now calls upon all people who pay allegiance to the Kabaka to be vigilant and condemn such people who sometimes act with impunity and intentions to undermine the Buganda and its top leadership.
He however hastened to add that they are not against people’s rights and freedom but emphasized that such freedom should be used in full respect of the law, norms and values.
Minister Kazibwe reminded those attacking the Kingdom to know that it is deeply rooted with structures that cannot be compromised in case it’s the intention before applauding the security for taking its part and ensure that Musana is arrested and brought to book.
