Police have on Wednesday October 25th evening rearrested Forum for Democratic Change’s Dr Kizza Besigye, hours after being granted bail by the Rukungiri Chief Magistrates Court.

After being freed on a Shs 5 million non cash bail, Besigye was barred by police from leaving the court premises.

His car was stopped from accessing the court compound which police identified as preventing him from driving through Rukungiri town and cause chaos.

According to sources, the Besigye together with other FDC officials were roughed up by police officers and put into waiting vans, and driven to yet unknown destination.

Just like last week, Police fired live bullets and teargas to disperse scores of Besigye’s supporters who were angered by the development.

During the arrest, according to eye witnesses, Besigye phone was confiscated and some of his aides Ronald Muhinda and one Brian were severely beaten and arrested too.

It is believed that Besigye and his team were being returned to Kampala.

Besigye was driven separate from his colleagues Ingrid Turinawe and Patrick Amuriat, with him they were charged earlier today with disobedience of lawful assembly and inciting violence as well as property damage.
