As schools head for reopening January next year, the newly created political pressure group “the People’s Front for Transition” (PTF) says the Government must come out with a clear plan to help the learning institutions, teachers and pregnant students as well as those who have given birth already.

Dr. Kizza Besigye, the Front Chairperson while speaking to journalists at his office at Katonga road, in Kampala said that it’s becoming clear that many private schools were left to collapse due to the impact, of the imposed lockdowns; teachers have abandoned the profession while many are in big debts.

Besigye adds that with a challenge of financial incapacity of parents to afford the cost of education for their children due to COVID-19 pandemic, Government seems not to have any plan to support children in the education system.

Meanwhile, Besigye condemns the Government for failing to do away with the night-time curfew to allow people move freely and get back to their income generating activities claiming it’s just another avenue by the Government fail Ugandans economically.
