The State Minister for Health in Charge of General Duties Hanifah Kawooya has noted that the situation the country is approaching next year might force people to get vaccinated.

 

Speaking to journalists after the launching of the Covid-19 mass vaccination campaign in Mubende Sub region, Kawooya said that Government won’t force any person or make it mandatory for vaccination but the situation will force people to get vaccinated.

 

This is after the former Premier Amama Mbabazi suggested to Government to make Covid-19 vaccination a mandatory exercise and a requirement for one to access public places during the Covid-19 Run held at Kololo over the weekend during.

 

Dr. Daniel Kyabayinze, the Director Public Health in the Ministry of Health expresses worry that the country might fail to beat the target of 4.8 million people from the priority groups that have to be vaccinated before the year ends, with the elderly doing worst standing at only 15% of their targeted population.
