Members of Parliament have called for an engagement of all respective authorities in solving civil servants’ salary structure as another group of medical workers laid down their tools today.

Now Medical Laboratory professionals through their Secretary General Patrick Dennis Alibu said they had put the Ministry of Public Service on notice over this strike three weeks ago since December 1st 2021 but didn’t get feedback prompting them to lay down tools.

The laboratory professionals strike is based on poor working conditions, low salaries, and lack of laboratory equipment among other issues.

Speaking to Kalungu West MP, Joseph Ssewungu and Fred Kayondo of Mukono South they said that it is high time Government through the National Planning Authority, Ministry of Public Service and Parliament sat to discuss the salaries of public servants rather than having partial solutions to a wider problem through directives of the President.
