The Archbishop of Kampala Paul Ssemogerere has encouraged young people to distance themselves from any kind of bad behaviors including homosexuality or else they degenerate into a wasted generation.

His Grace Ssemogerere delivered this parental message to the congregation that gathered to celebrate the feast of St Peters, the patron saint at St. Peter’s Secondary School Nsambya on Tuesday.

In his homily, the Archbishop said the bad behaviors have diverted the young generation failing them from unleashing their full potential for their growth and the development of the Catholic Church and the World at large.

He asked the students to emulate Saint Peter, the school patron saint and encouraged them not to shy away from conducting prayers before the statues of the Blessed Mother Mary and St Peter which were erected at the school compound.

He also confirmed at least 40 students and implored them to remain soldiers of Christ and the gospel.

The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul or Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul is a liturgical feast in honor of the martyrdom in Rome of the apostles Saint Peter and Saint Paul, which is observed on June 29.

The celebration is of ancient Christian origin, the date selected being the anniversary of either their death or the translation of their relics.
