The Archbishop of Gulu His Grace John Baptist Odama has attributed the ongoing trend of DNA tests to consequences of moral decadence in today’s society.

He says that it’s not morally right for people to degrade themselves by engaging in adultery and fornication before and during marriage which contravenes Godly teaching.

Archbishop Odama therefore appeals to the public to follow gospel teachings about sex before marriage and even after marriage to remain faithful to their partners.

He said this while responding to a question from the journalists at the launching of the Solar Pledge East Africa program in Kampala by the Horizont 3000, an Austrian Development Organization in partnership with Gulu Catholic Ecclesiastical Province.

The program aimed at establishing a transnational support platform focused on solar and renewable energy across the country after discovering that 60% of health facilities in Sub Saharan Africa don’t have access to reliable energy services and Catholic dioceses run more than 750 of them in both Uganda and Kenya.

Archbishop Odama says the issue of installing solar is fundamental for northern Uganda, which has not been fully electrified after it was ravaged by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) war for over 20 years as they try to rehabilitate it economically and in all other sectors of human development like education and health.
