The Minister for Internal Affairs, Gen Kahinda Otafiire says Uganda has been aware of the terror threat before the United Kingdom’s terror alert.

Speaking to Journalists at parliament on Tuesday, Gen Otafiire noted that the UK government just confirmed the information which Uganda was aware of.

In a travel advisory posted on its website, the UK government noted that terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Uganda.

The security agencies which seemed to have been with no information before said that Uganda is safe despite a new alert issued by the UK that a terror attack in the country is likely.

Last month, the government of USA also issued a similar alert, and the suspected ADF rebels went ahead and attacked Lhubiriha SS and killed 42 people, a matter that is still under investigation.

In November 2021, another alert was issued by the government of USA, but also the suspected terrorists used two explosive devices in central Kampala at Central Police Station and at Parliament Avenue killing 4 and injuring 33 people.
