The opposition Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party has called for a comprehensive forensic and value for money audits into the expenditures by Parliament and the Executive to account for taxpayers’ money being misused by Government officials.

This comes after the X (Formerly Twitter) Parliament Exhibition that has brought to light severe mismanagement, corruption and abuse of office by officials at the Legislation.

Winnie Kiiza, the ANT Head of Coordination and Campaigns while addressing journalists at the party headquarters in Bukoto-Kampala on Wednesday said that the party’s commitment is to uphold the principles of accountability and good governance in the country.

The former Leader of Opposition says that basing on those values the party demands that forensic audits ought to be carried out on Parliament to reveal the truth about the handling of public funds at the institution.

Kiiza has also appreciated the truly patriotic Ugandans who have been able to expose the on-goings in Parliament which constitute a clear reflection of the Executive.

She calls upon Ugandans to participate in forging a path towards a more transparent, accountable and inclusive Uganda.
