The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has called for cordial working relationship amongst African Parliaments for the growth and development of the continent.
Speaker Among says that having recognized the challenges and opportunities on the African continent, it’s imperative for all Africa parliaments and countries to jointly work and solve the African problems.
She noted this immediately after holding a bilateral meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, Alban S. K Bagbin, who also commended speaker Among for her positive influence in supporting African values and traditions.
Parliament of Uganda is hosting the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers (CSPOC2024) at Munyonyo common wealth resort starting today 3rd to 6th January 2023.
Meanwhile speaker Among appreciated the works of expanding Entebbe International Airport as she welcomed some of the arriving delegations of speakers and presiding officers under the common wealth parliaments.
However the chief Engineer of the Airport Ssoma Ayubu pleaded for more support from Parliament to embark on phase two if Entebbe Airport is to meet the International standards.
The first phase of expanding Entebbe International Airport cost government 200bn dollar loan.
