Police alongside military and intelligence agencies have started hunting for gunmen who killed the bodyguard of Pastor Aloysius Bujingo.
Bujingo who heads House of Prayer Ministries was attacked on Tuesday at around 9 pm by gunmen moving on a motorcycle.
Although Bujingo survived with minor injuries, his bodyguard Richard Muhumuza died on the spot. The incident happened at Bawalakata road junction, Namungona at Kasubi, Lubaga Division in Kampala.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson said comprehensive investigations into the incident have commenced.
Security has said that despite sustaining injuries during the attack, Pr Bugingo managed to transport Muhumuza to Mulago Hospital. However, Muhumuza had already succumbed to the assault and was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital.
By the time police, intelligence, and military arrived at the scene, locals had tampered with the scene and nothing much could be collected as exhibits. This has left police with the only option of using CCTV cameras to identify the assassins’ movement. ASP Owoyesigyire said.
