17 Speakers of African Parliaments out of the expected 73 have so far arrived to attend the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers (CSPOC2024) at Munyonyo common wealth resort Munyonyo.

 

The Conference of Speakers and Presiding officers comprise only Parliaments that are under the common wealth system and is to run from today January 3rd to 6th 2024 and President Yoweri Museveni is expected to officially open it tomorrow January 4th.

 

Among those who have arrived and welcomed by the Speaker of parliament Anita Among together with her deputy Thomas Tayebwa at Entebbe International Airport include Ghana, Kenya, South Sudan, Bostwana, Mozambique, Zambia, Lesotho and Malaysia among others.

 

Meanwhile this morning the speaker of Parliament Anita Among has held a closed meeting with the Speaker of Malaysia, Johari Abdula whom he called on for the deepening of bilateral relationship between the two parliaments.

 

Johari pledged to interest Malaysians to investor in Uganda’s Agricultural sector saying that African Cooperation is what will drive creation of opportunities for the emerging population and economically develop and save Africa from western exploitation.
