Makindye grade one Magistrate Lorna Patience Tukundane has granted a cash bail of Shs 300,000 to each of the two Youth activists Shafic and Yasine Galiwango and the sureties Shs 2 million, none cash.

The trio was arrested from Katwe a suburb of Kampala after tying themselves with chains allegedly exhorting Ugandans to rise up against government delay to give justice to the two legislators Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North and Allan Ssewanya of Makindye East respectively.

They have been cautioned against involving in any similar demonstration or make any public comments about the case until the hearing of the case is completed.

Their lawyer Samuel Wadda from cymbell advocates was happy with the court decision and had no objection to the report date of 11th October 2022 set for case hearing.

Meanwhile some activists who have attended the court session condemned court for charging their colleagues such huge amount of money for bail at this critical economic hardship for the entire country.
