The Bishop of Kasana-Luweero Diocese, Rt. Rev. Paul Ssemogerere has asked Priests in all Parishes and the faithful in their families, to hold special prayers ‘scientifically’, in honor of St Kizito the youngest of all the Uganda Martyrs, this Sunday.

St. Kizito was born at Waluleeta village in Waluleeta Sub Parish, Nandere Parish in Kasana-Luweero Diocese and was only 14 years at the time of martyrdom on June 3rd 1886 at Namugongo Nakiyanja.

The Pioneer Bishop of Kasana-Luweero Diocese which was erected in 1997, now Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese His Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga named Kizito the Patron Saint of Kasana Luweero Diocese and he announced pilgrimage to Waluleeta would be held every last Sunday of July.

For this year, it was supposed to be held on Sunday on July 26, 2020 but due to restrictions to deter the spread of Coronavirus by the government, it has been resolved that the day be observed scientifically at home while at the diocese only a few selected Christians will join Bishop Ssemogerere for the Eucharistic celebrations at the Cathedral.
