The trio was arrested immediately as they started matching from the London chamber building that houses UYD offices to the CPS, and were taken to the same police station for questioning.

The police spokesperson in Kampala Metropolitan Patrick onyango later confirmed that the three were to be charged with unlawful assembly in the courts of law.

Those arrested include the acting secretary general of the Uganda Young Democrats Robert Mugambwa, Ladison Kijjambu vice president of UYD in Buganda region and Denis Tumuhairwe.

Earlier on, the members of UYD had addressed journalists at their offices saying besides petitioning the KMP commander, they were to start holding peaceful demonstrations in demand for the release of Kyandondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi wine from house arrest.
