Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine is among a number of opposition dignitaries who have attended the burial of the former Bugiri District Chairperson Siraji Lyavala at Bugeso Village, Lwemba Sub-county.

It’s not clear how Bobi Wine left his home in Magere, Kasangati in Wakiso District where he has been under house confinement by the police in what it calls preventive arrest since April 23, over his actions said to cause a security threat.

Bobi Wine used his social media platform to inform his followers that he was in Bugiri adding that “no matter how the NRM regime will try to keep them apart they will find means of coming together.”

Lyavala has been commended for his patriotic spirit and exemplary service.

Lyavala succumbed to kidney cancer on April 24 at Norvik Hospital in Kampala where he has been admitted for about a month.

Hajj Lyavala Siraji Samanya will be remembered in the recently concluded Bugiri Municipality MP election when he went against his NRM party position and supported Candidate Asuman Basalirwa,

Lyavala, lost to Jane Francis Oketcho,on the NRM primaries for the Bugiri Municipality who was still beaten by JEEM President Asuman Basalirwa.

Lyavala served as a councilor in Iganga District before it was carved out of present day Bugiri. In the past he campaigned for a number of NRM members including Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba, served as a senior presidential advisor for Busoga affairs.
