The opposition Uganda People Congress has appealed to government to make the covid-19 stimulus package available and for all beneficiaries.

Speaking to the press in Kampala on Wednesday the party spokesperson Faizo Muzeyi noted that various sectors such as schools, entertainment were and still hit by the lock down due to the threat from Covid-19 pandemic.

He says that the stimulus package was overdue since many sectors have lost hugely especially private schools are in terrible situation and deserve to be rescued.

His comments come at a time when government promised to support private schools that were badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic with a 20 billion stimulus package.

Muzeeyi also observed the need to have effective agricultural cooperative societies in order to give farmers confidence and ensure quality products.

This comes at a time when farmers are to face individual challenges and losses especially in securing of agricultural inputs such as quality seeds, fertilizers among others especially at this time when Kenya has put up strict terms to export maize to their country from Uganda.
