UPC Walubiri’s faction ready to take on Akena

The Uganda People’s congress UPC party faction led by Peter Walubiri has vowed to throw Jimmy Akena out of office at any cost.

During the press conference in Kampala Peter Walubiri the legitimate UPC party leader according to the Court ruling, has asked Jimmy Akena to vacate the party offices or else other measures are awaiting him to enforce the court rulling.

High Court Judge Yazin Nyanzi in his October 13, 2023, ruling in case filed by the late Joseph Bbosa the then Vice President of the Party during Olara Otunu’s regime in 2015 declared the election of Akena void and illegal for violating the UPC Constitution.

Walubiri says that since 2015 the party has been under siege where Jimmy Akena grabbed power in violation of the party constitution and he is illegally occupying the party offices and spending its funds unaccounted for even after several court rulings and injunctions.

However, Walubiri says that the party is to embark on reconciliation, reorganizing and engaging of other political parties to break the dictatorial regime in this country.
